The recruitment function should at a minimum include/cover: Requisition, Job Multi-posting to job-boards/social sites, should provide a career micro site, allow companies to customise their own recruitment process, automate both SMS and email communications with candidates and internal stakeholders, has the ability to build custom E-Forms, has talent pool management functions, powerful candidate search functions, shortlisting, Interview setting, branded communication templates, powerful custom field system that allows companies to capture any data they like in any format they like and be able to search and segment their database based on those custom fields.

Old Fashion - client server / private cloud: This would require companies to install it on their own server and having to mange the hardware and maintenance of the software. STAY AWAY FROM IT.

look like SaaS - but it's not:  This is where the vendor makes it sound like it's a SaaS offering buy it's not - they actually have to install a brand new database for you before you can be up and running - this means, there is a huge barrier to entry:  a). Expensive up front investment, and b). It's takes a long time before you're up and running.
